Went with Monica to Madame Siam. The super-group, made up of some folks I've been seeing quite often lately, The Jaded Hearts Club, gave a show and I was really looking forward to see them play. The place was packed when we got there, and I was a bit surprise, because I thought this was more of an intimate - friends only kind of show. I guess many Muse fans found out about it and showed up. They had an open bar in the back area where we were mostly hanging out. The show was great - these guys are really rock n roll. Towards the end of the night I got kind of tipsy. Me and Tyler-Marie danced and hit the ground twice. I woke up with a very sore elbow. Took a break from work and went with Noël to the Maddox Gallery opening in Beverly Hills. After a little confusion at the door we walked in. I was very excited once I saw the first plate of appraisers of fish and chips walking towards me. It didn't disappoint. The pigs in blankets that followed didn't disappoint either. It was a great opening and so many interesting people showed up like David Husselfoff and Robert Downy Junior. I might have told Paris Hilton that one of the works in the Gallery was mine. Apparently it was her favorite piece. Then she asked me where I'm from and I felt kind of awkward when I said Germany, since the show was called The Best of Britain. After that I was worried she'll keep investigating so I escaped the conversation and we left shortly after.
Went and surprised Kiersten Dolbec when I drove up to her house in with a painting that Johnny Houston got her for her birthday called White City. She laid her eyes on it when she was at my place for her interview her for Exposures. Later I went to Madame Siam with Julia for Beck's after show party. Went with Dane and Sunset to Alan Chin's art show in Downey. I was invited by a dear old friend, Julia Conley, who I bumped into a couple of days before at a screening for Bold Films' movie Colette in Beverly Hills. Chin's work was very earthy, large scale earthy, which I thought was very ambitious and interesting. I never been to an art show in Downey before, and I thought that that was very ambitious too. But most exciting was Julia's congenial and enchanting personality, that never ceased to shine itself in the large studio space. As a bonus, on the way back, we passed by the oldest operating McDonald's in the world. I naturally stepped in for a double cheeseburger. Went to dinner at Boa with Cherish since they offered her and her group a comp dinner to promote their new Jazz Night. We then went to my place to refresh, and I randomly discovered that two of my paintings complete each other. I was then convinced to go to Doheny Room, which was great, because it was Cameron Kippsten's birthday celebration and which meant that many nightlife veterans were there and the party was really happening.
